Description
What tales did our ancestors tell as they looked up at the Southern skies? Old-world lore is still alive in the home-spun tales of the rural south. Bow songs of these southern cultures will form the basis for a modern retelling of these stories in a contemporary sound-setting. For this concert the UCT Ibuyambo Orchestra will be re-imagining its instrumental palette in arrangements that will combine its pan-African instrumental and vocal forces in new ways.

Description
Teacher turned Comedian, Dalin Oliver, is back with a few more lessons in his brand new stand-up comedy show, Face For Radio, following the sold out success of his debut one man show, I Came, I Taught, I Left.10 years after matriculating, Dalin is struggling to adapt to the concept of adulting. No one warned him about it.
His Life Orientation teacher forgot tell him that he'd have to pay tax, parallel park in on-common traffic and that data would be this expensive.Friendships and relationships have changed. His friends are getting married and going to Stodels on the weekend while he's figuring out that Tinder is not that beneficial when you staying at home with your parents.
One day while playing PokemonGo, he realised that it was time to grow up.(Actually his mom told him that if he doesn't get off his phone and clean his room he'll never find a girlfriend.) It was time to get his act together.
So pop around to hear his stories. If you don't, he'll only have family members attending and they would want complimentary tickets. We don't want that now do we.

Description
With more than 95 million YouTube views and some 195,000 subscribers to her channel, Valentina Lisitsa is one of the most watched classical musicians on the internet, using digital innovation to champion classical music and performance. Impressed by her YouTube success, the Royal Albert Hall, in an unprecedented step, opened its doors for Valentina's London debut on 19 June 2012. That concert, recorded and filmed by Decca Classics, became her first release on the label; it was also Google's first-ever live HD stream. With her multi-faceted playing described as "dazzling", Lisitsa is at ease in a vast repertoire ranging from Bach and Mozart to Shostakovich and Bernstein; her orchestral repertoire alone includes more than 40 concertos. She has a special affinity for the music of Rachmaninov and Beethoven and continues to add to her vast repertoire each season. This annual fundraising Celebrity concert helps to raise much needed funds towards the overall running costs of the series for the year ahead. For more information visit the Cape Town Concert Series: www.ctconcerts.co.za
